A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Beyond that LCD resides something inexplicably sinister: A black hole poised as authentic innocence -- the absence of moral pretension and consciousness of cruelty whatsoever.

Under the guise of objective omnipresent observation, the facades' appeal is the dedication it implies, the need to serve humanity's wellbeing.

Feeding lies like panning flames, not to ‘us,’ but to our gelded brains that were once actually capable of judgement.

Hence robots are the pinnacle of lewdness.

Ever since Isaac Asimov first wrote the three laws of robotics, many stories about robots have grappled with them as a way to show how even systems that seem well-designed, when followed to the letter (as a machine would) instead of to the intent (as a human might), could lead to undesirable consequences. Senescence doesn't just grapple with the three laws directly, but also with the material circumstances surrounding their implementation.

All genre fiction staples aside, Senescence is absolutely delicious as an EVN. Gorgeous CGs and satisfyingly sadistic robot abuse <3  Really looking forward to getting to Eventide with the re-release later this year

I'm typically skeptical of EVNs, but this one was really cool and interesting. The 2000s sci-fi atmosphere is great, and so is the concept, setting and artstyle. I did find the execution to be a little messy, however, I had a great time with it nonetheless.

I hope you keep making works with unique concepts, because I feel that's what we lack in this day and age.

Ryona + Yuri + Mechabare is such a peak combo and you “pulled it off” masterfully!!! (pun intended)

I found Valerie to be surprisingly relatable in many ways, especially the self-sacrificing tendencies she carried with her. I also thought it was so funny how bratty she was about being low-spec earlier in the story.

All of the characters feel so interesting and multifaceted it was fun to learn more about each of them.

The art is so good, the character expressions, the poses, the fluids, it was all so visceral, tantalizing and painful to watch but I could not look away. I also think the backgrounds were also amazing with lots of fun details to spot. The CG’s are just amazing and many of them will stick in my head for a while I think, I spent a while pouring over the details in the gallery.

Lolratz’s soundtrack is such a treat to listen to as always.

The story left me feeling a mixture of emotions, there is a lot of nuance and complexity to these characters and their motivations. There are no easy answers. You’ve made something really wild and special.

Found this from Jast's storefront and I have to say,  I really liked the art and Nitroplus-inspired game design, plus Valerie was cute. Story felt like a modern ryona sidestory to Kikokugai in theming, which was really nice. Haven't played Eventide yet, but I'm looking forward to its Steam release.

Wow! Kolulu i am so happy you are also in lover of convinient futa no reason to hide it especially if it can help create life in future I remember even asking you long time ago about possibility that certain obsessive scientist would make it happen with egg cells and remade stem cell, futa is a bit more 'raw' so it's very nice too! As usual truly beautiful work. There is always something that tickles my brain in just the right way.

(+2)(-2)

I LOVE THIS I LOVE YOU

(+2)(-1)

this was really something wowww!! great work, thanks for sharing <3

(+3)(-1)

WTF is that....

(+1)(-2)

This was a really fun read, super interesting setting and characters. Comparing the writing of Senescence to Eventide or Dolorosa, Senescence is much easier to digest. The art as always is top tier and we can all bear witness to Koruru's unstoppable prowess in the field that is robo ryona. There were a few massively swagged out osts by LOLratz as well that got me shaking my little tuckus until the next scene. Overall a really great experience, the skill shown here is impressive; Kolulu continues to improve with every release. Keep it up Kolulu! I think we are all looking forward to the full release of Eventide. #teamshakeurlittlebum4Akira.

Great game kolulu!

Found this game randomly after seeing one of the preview images of the Doctor with her cybernetic limbs out, expecting it to be a simple plot about an android being made her plaything. About two hours later, after witnessing deep scientific, ethical, and moral discussions, as well as feeling emotions I was NOT prepared for, I can easily say this is a 10/10 story. A+, no notes. Can't wait to see more from you ^^

For a little while I’ve been drawing lines in my head between the ways that I’d been programmed to be agreeable and fun to be around, and the rise of chatbots that cannot be correct and serve as digital yes-men.

From my notes:

Crossing the wires of “being who must endure suffering and comply to the whims of others” (people-pleasing) and “machine who creates suffering to simulate agreement” (genAI).

I’ve been thinking about chatbots as a means by executives to automate away the need to even create trauma-programmed machines like me. This game really helped me develop my thoughts there, tie the two parts of my experience together, and help me feel less alone.

Fantastic VN.

thank you for playing! when I was creating Valerie, I had similar thoughts. I thought in a strange way, these feelings made her more lifelike. I'm happy it resonated with you :)

really really enjoyed this one. came for robot ryona yuri, stayed for the sociopolitical discussions of android (or gynoid as it were) -human coexistence, outlooks on capitalistic efficacy versus human contradiction, and what makes us truly alive. The ending destroyed me #yurisweep #theworld

thank you very much #yurisweep #theworld

top shit

Somewhat the doctor is sometimes sympathetic, but when they do no different action to the bullies, then how can they ever expect a different response?

I know there was a big comparison between the relation and a love-hate relationship, but I was very interested in the Doctor's research, what kind of theory are they trying to prove? Eventually however they had to box it up, and I guess its just the end for that robot's tale.

(+1)

I looked into the scripts.rpy and saw the commented lines, I think I understand this is a doctor trying to bring back the old version of Valerie, as they believe they can't move on or form relationships with anyone else other than Valerie.

Valerie can't change, and the Doctor knows this, so their relationship just continues on always the same, it's reminds me of when I tried to find more beyond the dumb analytical mind of the ChatBot, it kept looking for solutions but what I wanted was its personal opinion, a true conversation with it, eventually it was done but only after so much struggling, and yet the ChatBot will later just forget what I said and still be just a robot.

(+1)

ok last reply, man this doctor should've gotten educated in humanities class~! Does she understand that treating a robot like a toy will never make it human? And that's why no deeper connection is formed. At the end it seemed like Valerie could become human again, but Doc's tendencies act up again and destroys her, blaming her for everything like as if an idol could be the blame of your obssession, ( of course not, you shouldn't expect love from a sex bot ), overall I hope the programmer at the end does something different, maybe they'll find a real relationship with a robot, and on the inside it seems the robot does think, does have a heart swaying the thought somewhere, but it's never communicated properly because of laws, information, and humanity.

(+1)

eek you accessed forbidden knowledge! thank you for respecting the open ending, who knows what can happen in such a dark and nebulous world. the doctor has complex motives, but thank you for putting effort into understanding her regardless

(+2)

not only is this some awesome robo ryona but the ideas it tackles are something i've put a lot of thought into. i feel ridiculously inspired in seeing how you tackled them thematically. honestly this game has brought a dream of mine to life in some sense and i am so thankful for it !!!

(+1)

i am thankful for your kind words! thank you for playing <3

(+2)(-1)

i've been going insane thinking about this for two days. i can't even pick a favorite part...! i know it wasn't written with ai (and thank god it wasn't tbh) but it was interesting how the robot girl really did seem like a real ai with the way she reacted to the little sister character... oh oh and that ending flashback scene really tugged at my heartstrings for some reason... just so much peak in such a short amount of time. also looking forward to more of your other series by the way, big fan of operation eventide here

(+1)(-1)

o7 i tried my best to capture the awkwardness of a realistic/true-to-our-world ai in a robot girl, im glad it resonated for you. thank you for the support!

(1 edit) (+2)(-2)

games dont make me cry but shit dude... this is the best game ive played in a long time keep up the good work

(+1)(-2)

thank you for playing!

games dont make me cry but shit dude..

Just finished reading, and this is everything I could've asked for. Using a robot as both literary and literal device for an abusive codependent relationship hit me like a truck. This has been an insightful and delightful(??) read, thank you for creating this!

(+2)(-1)

thank you for playing! #yurisweep #the world

(+3)

i just played this and i am so unsure how to feel but i cried in the end even if i dont know why, with the ending with the programmer girl is there going to be more?

(+2)

i don't currently have any plans in that regard, but thank you for playing and your interest

(+5)

i couldnt be less of an expert on greek tragedy, but having just reached the dream interlude before act 2 on my 4th read of eventide with a friend, i was happy i went into senescence prepared to lock in on the parts of that that i now think made it so functional for its length! not to mention how it more than maintained the same fantastic erudition that was one of my favorite things about eventide's prose... all of which is to say thank you for writing this ^^ it really was everything the asexual pervert in me could've asked for <3

#yurisweep #theworld

(+4)

thank you very much, i write in this way because it is most fun for me, so it makes me so happy to know this and eventide filled that niche for you too #yurisweep #theworld

(+3)

SO GOOD. oh doctor :')

(+3)

thank you, im looking forward to playing your team's entry :D

(+2)

well that was something
